The company was established in 2000 through the merger of US-based Mphasis Corporation and Indian IT services firm BFL Software. The Mphasis logo has changed a few times (3 in particular). These changes reflect the technological landscape of the period and the company’s growing expertise in the cutting edge of technology. The article delves into the three logos, among other details of the company.
The Genesis of the Mphasis Logo (Pre-2014)
The logo comprised a graphical symbol as well as the wordmarks “MPHASIS” and “an HP company” in blue. The graphical symbol had the letter “M” depicted in a stylised way in white and encircled by a thin white outline. The elements were placed inside a solid blue circle. To the right appeared the word “MPHASIS” in uppercase with sharp serifs, and where the first and the last letters, “M” and “S”, were shown bigger than the rest. The tagline below in lowercase, save the abbreviation “HP”, completed the logo.

(2014 – 2018)
The logo featured a graphical emblem consisting of four tilted squares of different colours (black, blue, and grey) placed one over the other. These squares depicted the attributes of the brand through a stack of connected foundations. The connectors in the stack showed close partnership with other stakeholders and signified the evolution and movement of the brand to the next level. The wordmark beside the emblem featured “Mphasis” in a title case and using a sans-serif typeface. The tagline was placed below the brand name, which mentioned “Unleash the Next” in grey.

(2018 – Present)
The new Mphasis logo introduced in 2018 symbolised the emphasis of the company on being a digital-first and next-gen technology enterprise. It conveyed the focus of the company on areas such as AI, cloud, cognitive services, and innovation. The brand name in the logo is executed using a modern and clean sans-serif typeface.
The logo signifies the agile, iterative process that leads to the enhancing of customer experiences. It also symbolises the unique approach of Mphasis, called Front2Back Transformation, to achieve a customer-centric digital transformation for businesses.
The graphical emblem in the logo contains two dynamic arrow-like shapes in red and bluish-green connected to each other and forming a directional movement. The wordmark “Mphasis” in black is written in a clear, rounded, and modern sans-serif typeface, followed by the tagline “The Next Applied” in black below.
