SK Telecom began its journey as Korea Mobile Telecommunications Services Corp., or KTMC, in 1984. The original logo featured the name of the company in Korean, which was a simple and formal design. The company name was accompanied by a graphical emblem in monochrome to the left consisting of four overlapping circles. The outer edges of the circles were thickened by bold shades.

(1992 – 1997)
In 1992, the company came to be known as the Korea Mobile Telecommunications Corp., and its logo featured the company name in Korean along with a graphical emblem to its left. The emblem had two diagonal circles in white connected to each other and enclosed within a light brown square with rounded ends.

(1997 – 2005)
