Amazon Web Services Logo Evolution

Amazon Web Services, or AWS, is a leading cloud computing platform that provides a comprehensive suite of on-demand services. These include computing power, storage, databases, networking, machine learning, analytics, and security tools. It was launched by Amazon in 2006, and it enables organisations of all sizes, from startups to global enterprises, to build, deploy, and scale applications efficiently without the need for traditional on-premises infrastructure.

It boasts a global network of data centres, a flexible pay-as-you-go pricing model, and continuous innovation. Being a dominant force in the cloud industry, AWS powers countless digital services, online platforms, and mission-critical business operations worldwide. The evolution of the AWS logo reflects the journey of the company over the years. The article explores this evolution, among other details about the company.

The Genesis of the Amazon Web Services or AWS Logo (2006 – 2017)

The first AWS logo consisted of a graphical emblem and a logotype written in two levels. The graphical emblem had five identical cubes in orange colour with white borders stacked one below the other in a honeycomb pattern. The brand name “amazon” in bold lowercase occupied the top row, while “web services” in thin letters was placed at the bottom.
